Our story
Where good dogs go to roam.
Trail Mutts is a doggie day ranch and wellness outfit in Lubbock, Texas — big-sky play, watchful wranglers, and a wellness streak a mile wide.
A day on the ranch
Morning muster
Drop-off, sniff-arounds, crew assignments. Our wranglers get to know each pup and pair them up for the day ahead.
High-noon romp
Yard play, splash pad, nap-room siestas. Every pup finds their rhythm — active play or a quiet corner, we've got both.
Sundown send-off
Brush-downs, report cards, happy tails home. Pickup includes daily notes and a chance to hear how your pup spent their day.
Why we're here
Our vision & mission
Our Vision
We picture a West Texas where no dog spends the day alone and no family ever has to wonder how their best friend is doing. A place where wide-open room to run, a wrangler who knows every pup by name, and open, camera-honest care aren't extras you pay up for — they're simply how dogs are looked after around here. And we picture a Lubbock where the dogs still waiting on a home have a real hand up, because a business built on loving dogs owes something to the ones who haven't found their family yet.
Our Mission
Every day, we give Lubbock's dogs a premium day on the ranch — daycare, grooming, boarding, and at-home walking and sitting — run with the discipline of a working ranch and the warmth of people who love the work. We treat every dog as the individual they are: the right group, the right pace, the right care, and a live PupCam so you never have to take our word for it. And with every stay, we give back to our own community — supporting the local shelters and rescues working to get every dog home — so the ones still waiting get their shot at the same good life.
The people behind the pack
Meet the wranglers
Our founder started Trail Mutts on a simple idea: a dog's day should feel like a good chore list, not a lockup — plenty of room to run, someone who knows their name, and an honest report waiting at pickup. Every wrangler on this crew works the ranch the same way: like your dog is already family.

Boots on the ground
Your walking & sitting crew

Lynetta
Sunrise wrangler. Lynetta has logged 9 years of dawn-patrol walks and never met a mud puddle she'd steer a happy Lab around. Herding-breed fluent and endlessly patient, she keeps group walks calm, courteous, and tails held high. Off the clock she fosters bottle puppies, so nap-time cuddles are a house specialty.

Michelle
Whisperer of the wary. With 7 years of gentle, go-at-their-pace experience, Michelle is who we send for the shy ones, the newly adopted, and the "my dog doesn't warm up to strangers" crowd. Slow blinks, treats in the pocket, zero pressure — she's earned more first-time tail wags than she can count.

Nicole
Trail boss of belly rubs. Nicole has spent 12 years reading tails and translating zoomies — from anxious rescues to senior sweethearts who just want a slow amble and a good ear-scratch. She swears every dog has a favorite sniff spot, and it's her job to find it. Out on the ranch she's the one teaching the young pups their trail manners.
What we stand for
The mission above isn't just words on a page — here's how it shows up in the way we run the ranch every day.
Safety first, always
Vaccination checks, small crews, trained wranglers. Your pup's wellbeing is our only bottom line.
Wellness built in
Grooming, enrichment, PupCam check-ins. We care for the whole dog — body and spirit.
Community on the trail
A business built on loving dogs owes something to the ones still waiting. With every stay, we give back to our own community — supporting the local shelters and rescues working to get every dog home.
